Actors know the importance of one look to convey meaning. It has to be specific, it has to be powerful, and it has to have depth. We know, in an uncertain, cynical world, how important it is to tell stories. Now more than ever, it is our shared humanity that bonds us, and it is our great responsibility as storytellers and creative beings to bring about change in the world. I believe this is why we choose to act: to illuminate, to inspire, and to transcend. My experience as an actress means that I know how to make you comfortable during our shoot, and I know how to bring out the best in you. My experience in casting means I know what elements make a headshot work: lighting, clothing, and composition. Shoots with me last as long as it takes to get what you and your agents need. Typically, though, we can accomplish everything in a couple of hours. I work closely with you in choosing clothing options and we will have plenty of time to talk before the shoot, so that we’re both on the same page. I’ve sat for headshots countless times. It can be a daunting, pressured, uncomfortable and awkward experience. Not to mention expensive. It is my goal to provide my clients with not only what they need professionally to get them in the room, but also to have a sincerely joyful time shooting. Headshot sessions are a shared experience between photographer and actor. I want us both to walk away from our shoot feeling inspired, confident, creative and connected. I want us both to have laughed—a lot. I want us both to have been reminded why we do what we do, despite immense odds and ridiculous distractions. And I’d like us both, once we’re done shooting, to feel like we’ve made a new friend.
I’m simple. I charge a flat rate of $350.00 for our shoot. I don’t place limitations on time or looks. That said, it’s not like we’ll be shooting for days, either. You’ll probably wind up with around four looks, and neither one of us will be exhausted by the time we’re done. After our shoot your shots will be available on a disc for you to pick up at your convenience. I can also recommend a couple of labs if you have questions about where to get your shots printed or retouched.
